This is a short (51 pages), simple and beautifully written tale of compassion, generosity, and the discovery of unexpected love.
It takes place in present day China and is built around the legend of The Lucky Bridge, which once blessed new marriages but is now a site where women often abandoned unwanted children.
This novella is based on a true story. But I won’t say more for fear of spoiling your enjoyment.
