Fascinating glimpse into the world of fine art. Awarded four stars on Goodreads.

I might have given this five stars had it not been for all the details about painting techniques, which became a bit dry at times (though I give the author props for excellent research). But the story gets better and better as it goes along and that kept me going.
It ultimately becomes a page turner. I learned a lot about the worlds of museums, art and forgery. And while I usually prefer stories with a linear timeframe — I actually liked how Shapiro slowly unveiled information from different time periods. It is a fun read!
