What Alice Forgot – by Liane Moriarty – independent book review – Fiction

Who among us has not, at one time or another, feared a medical disaster that would completely alter our life and family? That’s the premise of this book. Awarded three stars on Goodreads.

In this novel, the protagonist is Alice Love, a 29-year old who suffers an accident, falls into a coma, and wakes up 10 years later.

She is relieved, excited to be back, and ready to resume her life. Unfortunately, those closest to her have moved on. And it becomes Alice’s job to come to terms with all that has happened during the past ten years.

It’s certainly a page turner as the reader’s loyalties shift back and forth, especially between Alice and her husband. But it’s more of a good beach book for the summer than great literature.
