UPDATE on June 26, 2021: I just replaced the photo above with a more current one. The hiking trail we climbed that you can see running diagonally through this photograph in now closed. As you can see, lava is now flowing through the path we used.

Just back from a wonderful 2 weeks in Iceland (my fourth visit).
I’ll be adding more images soon but for now I’ll share the chief reason we went – TO SEE THE ERUPTING VOLCANO (š)!
Two mile hike, mostly UP, facing winds near hurricane force (explains the shaky cam) and here’s the video I shot across a field of cooling lava:
