Of course you can count on National Geographic to offer some amazing award-winning photos every year. 2022 is no exception. There were 2.2 MILLION images submitted (how did they even review so many?) – so you know the winners have to be spectacular.
Like the one above — a hunter galloping on horseback in Mongolia while holding his hunting partner, a golden eagle!
Or the one below – an Arizona screech owl in mid flight, holding a reptilian snack
Other images offer a variety of beautiful scenes from nature as well as reminders of the fragility of our ecosystems.
